Frequently asked questions

Q. I've never thrown an axe before; will someone show me?

      A. Yes!! We have a team of experienced axe throwers and certified coaches available to demonstrate the correct way to throw an axe safely and will be available throughout your session to offer advice and techniques.

Q. What are your hours?

A. We are open 7 days a week from 11 AM - 11 PM

Q.  Should I tip my axepert?

A. Yes, it is customary to tip your axepert for helping you have the best experience you can.

Q: How much does it cost to throw axes?

A: Axe Throwing is $25 per person per hour from 11:00-11:00

Q: How many people can I bring?

A: We have four lanes with two targets per lane, each lane can accommodate up to six people at a time.  If there are more than six in your party, please reserve two lanes. If you have any questions about how to do that just give us a call. For faster processing you can all sign the wavier in advance on the reservation page in the drop down.

Q: Do I need to make a reservation?

A: Making a reservation is recommended due to the limited number of lanes available however walk-ins are always welcome. If you are bringing more than 6 people, two lanes will be better for you, so with a group a reservation is definitely recommended.

Q: Is there an age limit to who can throw axes?

A: There isn't an age limit to axe throwing, however in our experience, young throwers over 8 years old do best –but we believe if your child has an interest and you as a parent/guardian are okay with your child throwing an axe, we’re here to help make that happen.   Any throwers under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian with them who is legally able to sign their liability release.

Q: Will I need to sign a waiver?

A: Everyone must sign a liability waiver to throw axes.  Axe throwers under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver for them.  You can do this on the reservation page or go to Sign your waiver in advance.

Q: Is axe throwing safe?

A: Safety is our number one priority of all participants. Every axe throwing customer will receive a safety talk and a brief instruction of how to handle, throw and retrieve an axe prior to throwing. Our axeperts will work with your group during your reservation to make sure you are able to "stick" an axe safely and with proper technique before your time is up.

Q: Do you serve alcoholic beverages?

A: Yes, we offer a range of domestic, regional and National beer and wine, as well as sodas and water. We do ask that you not bring any outside beverages into the building.

Q: Axes and alcohol?

A:  Yes, It's very common to see beer and wine at public establishments, axe throwing venues are no different. Our staff are trained to constantly monitor safety and ensure that anyone that is intoxicated will not be throwing an axe.

Q: Do you have food?

A: We don't have food, but we have snacks available for purchase and we provide popcorn. If you would like to bring food with you or have it delivered, you are more than welcome. There are several great restaurants in the surrounding area.

Q: Where do I park?

A: We have parking spaces out front and on street parking is available. If there aren't any spots, there's a large parking area on 8th and Atlantic (directly behind us and Burney's) with a gate that allows you to walk between the two buildings and enter our establishment!

Q: I made my reservation, what now?

A: Bring yourself and your group to Throw Baxe. Please arrive 10 to 15 mins before your reservation start time. This allows you time to sign the waiver and order your drinks prior to lane assignments. You can have your party sign the wavier online before your reservation, this option is located on the sign my waiver in advance drop down. All axe throwers must wear closed toe shoes - if not, we have slip on shoes available for rent, $5 rental fee for crocks and socks, you keep the socks.  Once your party is checked in, we will go over safety and give you a demonstration of how to throw an axe. While you are throwing, our axeperts will be monitoring and helping you have fun and enjoy our favorite sport!
